After guidance through the CDC and suggestions from state and regional public wellness authorities in assessment with NPS Public wellness Service Officers, effective March 28, 2020, Assateague Island National Seashore (Maryland District) may be CLOSED to any or all park site site visitors until further notice. We are going to inform the general public once we resume complete operations and offer updates on our site www. Nps.gov/asis and Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @AssateagueNPS.

Campers might not bring firewood from out of state. Firewood should be bought locally.
Camping at Assateague is likely to be an experience that is pleasant you want ahead! The barrier area habitat could be harsh if you should be perhaps not ready. Camping is present only when you look at the Maryland region of Assateague Island. Campers are reminded to create firewood (locally bought), sunscreen, insect repellent, display screen tents for color and pest security, and long stakes that are tent anchor tents into the sand and wind.
